I am the creator of Lauren M. Designs. I have designed clutches and handbags since 2008. The idea was to have a clutch bag that could take a woman from day to night. These bags were purposely designed to be oversized so that everything could fit inside. If you were headed to work and needed to carry multiple bags, our bags would prevent that while still being chic and stylish!!
Fast forward we have owned and operated several boutiques in White Plains NY, known as Loola Doola Boutique. When the pandemic hit in 2019 we unfortunately had to close our doors to all of our locations. We didn't have a website at the time so how would we continue our business? We sold off our merchandise doing lives on social media. But we still needed to produce our line of bags. Our current manufacturer here in NY was an expense we could no longer afford. My husband suggested why not make your own handbags?? Sure I was the designer, but now the producer???? I didn't know where to begin! At the time my thoughts were, "sure I can stitch, but to create an entire bag, on a machine, HOW??" That's when we took cash from our sales from social media sales and I purchased a sewing machine. After getting the hang of it, before I knew I had produced several clutches and matching accessories. I sold all of my bags at the Holiday Market in 2020. I was amazed!!! I walked away with orders to fill after the Holiday Market was over. Now what?
The word Pivot means to turn or to rotate. The wheels in my mind began to turn. Then the idea of a space that I can be creative came into play. And then it happened, my light bulb moment. I'll just open my own design and manufacturing business. From that day on, Loola Doola Design and Manufacturing Inc has been open for business, not only for our designs, but we want to be a local hub for other businesses to hire our company to design and produce their line of accessories as well. No sooner after opening, we became fully staffed with an experienced and innovative design and production team.
